Happy third week of summer!
When you multiply larger numbers by a one-digit number, you can split the multiplication into two easier multiplication questions.
To see how this works, you will need grid paper and pencil crayons. Here's a link to free grid paper:

- The single digit factor (6) stays the same.
- You split the two-digit factor into a sum.
- I did 10 + 6 but you could also do 8 + 8 or 9 + 7
- Then you multiply each number of the sum by the single digit factor (6)
Try the other sums. Do they give you a product or 96?
When you split the array into two, choose multiplication questions that are easy... 2, 5, 10 or multiples of 10.
Use the method above to complete these questions.
Eventually we will get to the "algorithm" or old fashion way of multiplying, but not yet.
