Social Studies
Today we finished our discussion on the relationship between the early societies of Judea and Ancient Rome and the environment. What advice did you give the people about forestry, farming and water practices? What did you learn about the people of the Indus Valley?

Math
Today's math test was somewhat challenging for some of you. You must understand the relationship between units and use problem solving strategies that we studied in other units e.g. t-chart, number line, picture

1 m = 1000 mm = 100 cm = 10 dm
1 km = 1000 m

1 g = 1000 mg
1 kg = 1000 g

1 L = 1000 mL

Science
Which materials did you find were transparent? translucent? opaque?
Can you describe situations in real life where the property of a material (how much light passes through) might be important?

Next up we will be learning about how light REFRACTS and uses of LENSES.
Is this straw really broken?? Try it at home!

Art
Some cool looking 3-D hands.
