Social Studies / Literacy
Wow, what a fabulous job most of you did today during reading groups. Students that showed initiative and wrote down remembering questions were very well prepared. Make sure you practice reading out loud the night before. This makes your reading more fluent.

Thank you to students who have been submitting Bit Strip comics. They look absolutely amazing. Some of your characters look like their actually standing in the different physical regions.

Math
Today we learned that multiplication is just repeated addition. Some of you already knew that! But we also learned that if you double one of the factors in a multiplication question, the product doubles as well. Doubles are a good way of remembering the 4, 6, and 8 times tables.
For example:
If you know that 2 x 7 = 14 then 4 x 7 = 28 (double 14)
If you know that 4 x 8 = 32 then 8 x 8 = 64 (double 32)

Learning Skills
Today we matched the learning goal with each learning skill. We found out that some learning skills overlap a bit, which makes sense because for example when you self-regulate you are being responsible. Tomorrow we talk about how we set good goals.

Drama:
Two groups did a terrific job presenting their weather reports. Some very creative ideas. Wednesday and Thursday we will be finishing the presentations..... no more practice, it's showtime! Do not read from a paper.... learn your lines.

Mad Minute
0, 1, 2, 3 times tables for tomorrow.

Ava!
