Tubing: Tuesday, February 10th.
Our winter excursion to St. Mary's is approaching quickly. Please make sure your child dresses in layers, bring extra socks, mitten etc. and WEARS A HELMET.
Parents are more than welcome to come and enjoy the fun with the class and help with supervision.
Just as a reminder, it is Board Policy that all volunteers must have a police background check.

Social Studies
Today we discussed another factor that affects people's decision to live in a certain area. Do you remember what things services provide? Are next region is the Arctic. A unique and culturally rich area of Canada.

Math
Everyone worked very hard to complete homework. Remember, an answer is reasonable if it close to an ESTIMATE. We can round addends (the numbers you are adding together) down and get a lower limit and round addends up and get an upper limit. Your answer is reasonable if your actual sum is between these estimates.
Example
                          2000                  2678               3000
                          6000                  6327               7000
                          8000                  9005             10 000
                        Lower                 Actual            Upper

You can also round both addends and find an estimate. If the estimate is close to the actual sum, then your answer is reasonable.

                           2678      3000
                           6327      6000
                           9005      9000

Both ways are acceptable to judge whether or not your answer is reasonable.
Remember, when solving word problems, you must show your work AND write a sentence answering the question. Use part of the question in your answer. This is also another way to make sure your answer makes sense.
