We have been discussing some very challenging concepts.
Resources: things that people need or use
Natural resources: things that are found naturally on Earth that people need or use
Renewable resources: things that we can use over and over again (don't run out) e.g. water
Non-renewable resources: things that once we use them, they are gone forever e.g. minerals
Industries: companies that make or do things that people need or want
WOW! That's a lot of new vocabulary.
So let's take a look at the Cordillera:
It has an ocean so some industries are......
It has lots of coniferous forests so some industries are....
It has lots of minerals so some industries are....
It has lots of rivers so some industries are...
It has beautiful scenery so some industries are...
Remember when you read in your textbook be a "close reader".
Read the first time to understand what the text is saying.
Read the second time to look at how it is saying it, that is the text features.
Read the third time to dig a little deeper to find out what it means. What's the big idea or message?
Math
Explain to your parents how to construct a stem and leaf plot.
How is it organized?
Why might this be a good choice of graph type to use? What can it tell the reader?
Tomorrow we do another kind of bar graph, a bar graph with INTERVALS.
Religion
Do you remember which mysteries of the rosary we prayed today?
Don't forget to dress nicely for mass tomorrow.
Keep practicing reading SLOWLY, CLEARLY, and LOUDLY.
