Social Studies
Today we reviewed the definitions of natural resources and primary industries. Some of you struggled to understand the difference between the two. Natural resources are things found in nature that are valuable or useful to people. A primary industry gets the natural resource.
Example:
Natural Resource - Minerals (e.g. gold, iron) Primary Industry - Mining
- Forests - Logging
No additional time computer time will be given to complete the flow chart showing the flow of a natural resource from primary to secondary to tertiary to quaternary industries. You must complete this by hand for homework. The natural resources in the Interior Plains to choose from include oil, potash, soil (a variety of crops are grown) and cattle.
