Our big idea for this unit:
We are learning about the similarities and differences of Canada's regions and how human activity and the environment affect each other so that we can learn how to be responsible stewards to the environment.
Do you know the physical characteristics of the Cordillera?
Can you identify the different landforms in the Cordillera?
Can you describe the climate and the factors that affect it?
Do you know the natural resources found in the Cordillera?
Can you identify the major industries and their effects on the environment?
Do you know what people of the Cordillera are doing to make sure their resources are sustainable?
Can you get information from a map? Do you understand the purpose of the different map features?
How is non-fiction informational text organized? How do the features of informational text help you while you are reading?
These a just a few questions that you should be able to answer.
Math
Linking elastics was a little tricky, probably more difficult for most of you than linking paper clips.
Everyone has a good understanding of how to create a stem and leaf plot.
What conclusions can you make about the stem and leaf plot below?
Art
Share with your parents the style of Gustav Klimt. Where did he come from? When did he live? What oil painting are we using a model for our painting?
Please finish your sketch. No need to colour it, just plan it out. Use the ideas below to help.
